Expanding Hospitality, Preserving Character: The Kunst Nature Hotel

For more than six decades, the Kunst family has been welcoming guests to the Posavje region of Slovenia. What began as a renowned local hospitality business has gradually grown into a destination known for its combination of accommodation, gastronomy, and Slovenian hospitality.


The latest chapter in that story is Kunst Nature Hotel, a new boutique property that expands the existing Hotel Kunst with 21 additional guest rooms, wellness facilities, and conference spaces. Thoughtfully designed and inspired by the surrounding landscape, it offers a contemporary hospitality experience rooted in the character of the region.


While the architecture and interior design draw inspiration from nature, the hotel's operational foundation is built around a modern hospitality platform that supports both guest comfort and efficient hotel management.

One Property, One Digital Ecosystem

The project extended beyond the newly constructed building. The new boutique hotel with 21 guest rooms was equipped with Robotina's HIQ Hospitality solution, an advanced guest room management system, while access control was simultaneously extended to the existing Hotel Kunst with its 17 rooms. Together, both properties are connected through a single platform that combines access management, room comfort control, energy optimization, and integration with the hotel's property management system (PMS). Through this integration, room statuses, access credentials, and operational information can be exchanged between hotel systems, helping staff manage day-to-day operations more efficiently.


Instead of managing two separate facilities, hotel staff can oversee key operational processes through a unified environment that covers the entire accommodation complex.

Comfort Designed Around the Guest

Every room in the new building was equipped with intelligent room automation designed to support modern hospitality expectations.

Guests can enter their rooms using QR credentials, PIN codes, or RFID cards. Inside, a touch display provides simple control of room temperature and shading, allowing guests to personalize their environment according to their preferences.

Behind the scenes, the system continuously adapts room operation based on occupancy. Heating, cooling, ventilation, and other room functions respond intelligently, helping maintain guest comfort and a pleasant indoor climate while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption.

Beyond the Guest Room

Smart hospitality extends beyond accommodation units. At Kunst Nature Hotel, common and operational areas are supported by integrated lighting, HVAC, and access management (Lighting IQ, HVAC IQ and Access IQ). Multiple access-controlled doors enable secure and flexible management of guest, staff, and facility access throughout the property.

By extending HIQ Hospitality technologies across both new and existing facilities, the hotel has created a scalable foundation for future growth. Unified access management, intelligent room automation, PMS integration, integrated climate control, and connected operational systems help support efficient day-to day hotel management while providing a comfortable environment for guests.
